As some of you are ending your Ski Season, you might want to consider the benefits of a sport that will carry over to any of your other indeavors- including next year’s ski season!

The Sport of Fitness!

Check out my most recent post from my other blog and tell me what you think!

…And they’re off!

The 2012 CrossFit Games are officially under way, with the first Open workout now being scored. We now have access to a live leaderboard that shows the rankings of over 55,000 athletes from all over the world, doing the exact same workout! The leaderboard can be separated out to show any division: (Masters, Male/Female etc…) or any region (Ours is the North West). This is a really fun sport because you get to DO and participate, right along side the best in the world!

It’s not too late!

If you want to help represent CrossFit Excellence you can register HERE until Sunday. Join our Affiliate: CrossFit Excellence, then join our Team: PXT! After you perform the Games WOD each week you will submit your score to your Games Profile and I will approve it. The scores are then added to the leaderboard for you as an individual as well as to our Affiliate Team, PXT!

A Second Chance at a First Impression!

If you don’t do as well as you think you should on your first attempt, that’s ok. Submit your score anyway, and if you get a chance to re-try the workout you can submit an updated score any time before the cut-off on Sunday afternoon!

When and Where?

Our workout of the day every Thursday will be the Open competition WOD. However, you may also come into to ANY Open Gym Time and give it a go, or come in at 11:00 Saturday and we’ll have a multiple choice Saturday workout, with one of your options being another go at the Open WOD.

Is This Really for Anybody?

Take 2 minutes and meet Matt Ramsey. He is one of many remarkable individuals that you can join and watch online as they progress on their individual journey. It’s fun to watch and pick your favorites out of the “who will win?” category, but some of the athletes to watch are the ones that are winning in other ways. Check this out!:

Just for fun…

My biggest personal motivation for my own training, is to live to be very old and stay very active. I will never win the CrossFit Games (that ship has sailed for me!) but check this out…leading the way in the “60 and up” women’s category as I write this with 79 Burpees! Marlene And the men’s 60 and up with 76 Burpees! Nathan My goal isn’t to place well this year in anything. My goal is to use this as a tool of inspiration and focus. We have 5 and 1/2 weeks left to compete for fun, focus on eating right and resting well. By competing, the worst thing that can happen is a little added focus, resulting in each of us being just a little fitter at the end of the 6 weeks than when we started. And who knows? Maybe next year (or when I’m 60) we’ll be able to rank just a little bit better!

I hope you’ll join us!

WOD:

“Helen”

As we approach the end of the race season for some of you, I realize that you might only be needing a workout or two for this week. I will continue to post workouts here for the foreseeable future, so that you can continue your Strength and Conditioning on a year-round basis.

For those of you I will not see again for a while – thanks for all your hard work! I had fun coaching you and hope to see you in future sessions down the road!
